At the
Pergamon
Museum we were able to look at ancient reconstructed buildings.
Everything we saw was built to its original size and parts of the
buildings were so genuine that they were transported from their original
excavation sites and replicated.
Then we all gathered for the Berlin River Tour.
Our tour boat looked so peaceful sitting in the harbour. When everyone
had taken their seats on the top floor, we departed from the wharf.
The tour guide started to speak (in German), telling us about Berlins
rich history which lay upon the banks of the River Spree and the Landwehrkanal.
Very early in the trip, one of us (not mentioning any names) experienced
an embarrassing incident with an extremely low bridge. However, the
3 and a half hour tour was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
That night we went to the most stunning IMAX 3-D theatre you have
ever seen. Even though the movie was in German, it was enjoyed by
the whole audience and quite surprisingly we all understood what was
being said.
Overall, this was a fantastic day in Berlin. by Lauren Bailey-Volk
